Laura helped us work through marking issues with our two cats. Both cats had UTIs, which were resolved with antibiotics, but there were leftover marking issues with one of the cats. Laura helped diagnose the marking behavior and identify changes we could make with their food, water, litter, playtime interaction, etc.Though it took time and work on our part, the behavior is fixed and we don’t have to re-home our kitties!

I reached out to Pawsitive Vibes and Laura at the suggestion of my vet. My cat has a history of UTI/bladder issues that are both physiological and stress-related. Laura gave me great insights and resources to consider as I try to help my cat avoid reoccurring UTI problems. Very knowledgeable and helpful.

I found Laura on the recommendation of my vets office- after years of ambivalence, Pudge and Turtle (litter mates) suddenly decided they hated each other, and the 3rd cat in the house was not helping matters. Hissing, spitting, fights with fur flying- it was only a matter of time before someone got hurt. When Laura came to visit she immediately realized that Pudge was anxious and terrified of everything, and the other cats were taking advantage. So I learned how to do clicker training. Pudge learned how to ask for a treat, and Turtle learned how to redirect her focus from Pudge. We also got Turtle on much needed anxiety meds. It was slow going but 6 months later, the girls had settled back into ambivalence, and it has been sustained. We still play the clicker training games sometimes a year later. I am so happy that Pawsitive Vibes was there to help us out when things got so stressful.

Laura helped so much with my aggressive cat. She gave me many ideas on how to help him. We met twice over Zoom and emailed several times to discuss how it was going. I was thinking that I might have to rehome him, but she was very hopeful and he is getting better each day. She taught me how to read his behavior in order to avoid his aggressive biting and clawing. We now have play times with varying degrees of activity, cat puzzles, and walks on a leash. I would highly recommend having Laura help with any problems you might be having with your cat.

My husband and I had an incredible experience with Laura. Our cat Mona was super anxious, constantly vocalizing, and uncomfortable being in a different room from us. Laura’s behavior plan, which included formulating the play experience to simulate hunting and finding novel sensory experiences for Mona that might distract her, was easy to implement and made an immediate change in Mona’s behavior. Within days of making changes, she was sleeping more, playing on her own more, and acting much more comfortable in the home. Prior to meeting with Laura, we were planning on talking to a vet about anxiety medication for Mona, and now that seems fully unnecessary. I would 100% recommend Laura’s services, especially since she does virtual appointments which are super convenient.

Laura was so helpful to my cat, Winston, and our family. We had a case of redirected aggression and within 2 weeks, thanks to the help of Laura and her expert recommendations and interventions, Winston was back to his regular self. Laura also helped us work collaboratively with our wonderful vet, Dr. Crest at Animal Medical Clinic- Dulany, to start Winston on anxiety meds which has helped our sweet boy more than we could have ever known! Thank you Laura & the team at Pawsitive Vibes!

Laura is a compassionate and expert cat trainer. My sister-in-law was having difficulty managing two cats that came into her care, and Laura’s advice was a huge help for her getting control of the situation. Laura worked at MDSPCA when I volunteered in the cat room, and she taught me so much about how to assess behavior in cats. No one knows more than she does when it comes to car behavior and training!

We had a great experience with Laura. We sought her out to help with our very sweet, but very high energy Bengal cat who had a penchant for destruction. I joked that she was there less to train the cat and more to train the cat owners, but it’s true. By changing our approach and being more consistent we are starting to see signs of improvement. We saw immediate changes in our cat. For example, our cat is NOT a lap cat. Within 30 minutes of Laura leaving, she jumped up in my lap and fell asleep! I took it as a great sign that she felt her needs were now being seen and addressed and she could chill out. I highly recommend Laura to anyone seeking help with their cat’s behavior.

Laura really helped us identify practical solutions to help our kitties become friends. We had been dealing with aggression and outside the litter box elimination behavior with our cats for almost a year, after introducing a new cat to the family. It was a huge stressor for our family, and nothing we tried on our own was helping. Our older cat has a lot of challenging health issues that added additional complications to the situation. I had contacted a different animal behaviorist that my vet had recommended and dealt with endless phone tag and the person was very dismissive and also very expensive. I appreciate how diligently Laura wanted to learn about our story and our cats’ issues. I loved how easy it was to book our sessions online and how responsive Laura is to email as well. The kitties now get along quite well and the changes we made with Laura’s help have made a huge difference with the elimination behaviors.

I reached out to Laura with a unique situation for her expertise on behavior issues between my resident cat and a stray cat I brought inside after caring for him outside over several months. I reached out to others for help without success, feeling desperate and alone. I connected with Laura, and she promptly responded, making the time in her schedule immediately to learn about my situation. She asked thoughtful, detailed questions to gather information and also posed thought-provoking questions to me as I considered the right course of action. She quickly provided comments and an assessment. I recommend Laura at the highest level, for her responsiveness and sense of urgency, her knowledge and expertise, and her compassion. She is a rare gem!
